Abstract:
The proliferation and popularity of open source hardware and software has brought the health industry to rapid evolution, creating portable and low-cost medical devices for monitoring vital signals. Recent technological advances in wireless communications and wireless sensor networks have enabled the design of low-cost, intelligent, tiny, and lightweight medical sensor nodes that can be strategically placed on human body, create a wireless body area network (WBAN) to monitor various physiological vital signs for a long period of time and providing real-time feedback to the user and medical staff. Electrocardiographic (ECG) equipment plays a vital role for diagnosis of cardiac disease, but the cost of this equipment is huge and the operation is too much complex which cannot offer better services to a large population in developing countries. In this paper, I have designed and implemented a low cost fully portable and wearable ECG monitoring system based on Arduino platform; medical sensors were used to collect physiological data from patients and transmit it to Android smart phone using Bluetooth standard. I introduced priority scheduling and data compression into the system to increase transmission rate of physiological critical signals which improve the bandwidth utilization. The purpose it was to create a mobile and wearable device for remote teleassistance. The results obtained by the device were tested comparing them with those obtained from a traditional ECG used in clinical practice on 85 people.

A symmetric cryptosystem based on Reed-Solomon codes
Authors:
Carolin Hannusch
Source:
International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 09 - 12, Vol 04 - No. 10, 2019
Abstract:
We give a method how to construct a binary code from a non-binary Reed-Solomon code and we introduce a cryptosystem based on this code. The invented cryptosystem is symmetric, i.e. its key has to be secret. Only elementary mathematical operations are used, thus computations will be fast.

International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 13 - 24, Vol 04 - No. 11, 2019
Abstract:
“Studies on role of honey bees as a pollinator in seed production of bitter gourd (Momordica charantia L.)” was conducted at Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri, during Rabi 2016. The experiment was laid out with view to find out the effect on time bounded foraging activities of honey bees and other pollinators in bitter gourd. The results from the foraging activity of bees noted that the With honey bees’ total 11 pollinators were observed on bitter gourd. Out of which three species of honey bees were contributes 80.24 % in total pollination of bitter gourd which shows honey bees are the major pollinator group on bitter gourd. Apiscerenaindica found to be most abundant pollinator in Bitter gourd ecosystem (31.57%) followed by Apisdorsata(26.31%) and Apismellifera (22.36%) and the intensity of Apisdorsata, Apisceranaindica and A. mellifera were reached at its peak at between 10:00 to 12:00 hrs with 2.15, 2.30, 1.70 and 4.15 visits/m2/min respectively. At the same time, Apiscerenaindica was proved to be efficient pollinator because it visits a greater number of flowers per minute (1.19 flowers visited by single bee/minute/m2) and it was followed by A. dorsata(1.02 bees/m2/min) and A. mellefera (0.85 bees/m2/min) in bitter gourd filed.

Abstract:
One way to use biomass waste is to convertit into solid fuel or commonly called briquettes. To obtain good quality biomass briquettes, the biomass raw material is processed in biochar through a slow heating process at low temperatures known as to reflation. One of the efficient heating technologies to carry out the to refaction process is to use microwave radiation. In addition, the purpose of this study is one of the results of applied research funded by Ristekdikti through DPRM in 2019. The purpose of this study Is to determine the temperature required by a microwave transformer using the computational fluid dynamics method ( CFD). The variables in this study were variations in powerof 100 W, 150 W and 200 W with time variations of each power of 30 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes and 120 minutes. The results showed that the best temperature was reached by a device with a voltage of 150 W with a burning time of 90 minutes. A good material used for reactors with low conductivity (glass) produce shigh temperatures (45, 105, 165, 225 oC) at 30, 60, 90, 120 minutes.

Acceptability of Gumamela (Hibiscus Rosa –Sinensis) Flavoured Ice Cream
Authors:
Cenby Eppie G. Gaytos
Source:
International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 31 - 46, Vol 04 - No. 11, 2019
Abstract:
The Gumamela plant (Hibiscus Rosa –Sinensis) is most abundant in tropical areas, in the Philippines, it is in fact one of the most common garden ornamental plants. More than being common, the flowers of this plant are also edible and as a matter of fact have medicinal properties that can help prevent various types of diseases. The development of the Gumamela Flavoured Ice Cream was realized for the purpose of helping individuals gain more income through innovative livelihood opportunities that are at the same time cheap and with raw materials that are readily available. The study was conducted in Brgy. Hollywood, Guiuan, Eastern Samar. The respondents of the study included 80 community members of the said Barangay for the Pilot Test, 30 Barangay Officials including the Brgy. Police and members of the Sangguniang Kabataan for the Benchmark Test and 10 experts (ice cream makers and vendors from the barangay) for the Final Test. The conduct of the acceptability of the product made use of score cards which was an evaluation of flavour, appearance, texture, aroma, color and its general acceptability. The findings of the study came up with the recommendation that Gumamela Petals may be used as flavour for ice cream and that its availability can help improve the residents of the Brgy. Hollywood community as well as others in the financial and economic aspects. The preparation of the Gumamela Flavoured Ice Cream and the availability and abundance of its materials can help reduce poverty in the community.

Trade-Off between Risk and Return of Selected Midcap stocks listed in BSE
Authors:
Mr. Suresh A.S.

International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 47 - 51, Vol 04 - No. 11, 2019
Abstract:
The research paper is organized to analyze the risk and return of selected mid cap stocks listed on BSE and also to compare the performance of each stock against the benchmark. The data is collected for a period of 5 years i.e., from 1st January 2014 to 31st December 2018. The paper compares the performance of each stock taking BSE Mid cap index as benchmark. The study is purely based on secondary data collected from BSE. The data were collected based on monthly prices of the selected mid cap stocks, and with the help of monthly prices annual return were calculated for a period of 5 years. The study shows that WockHardt Pharmaceuticals, Cyient software and Torrent Pharmaceuticals have given highest returns during the study period. Whereas the return of Union bank is lowest during the same period. The beta of all the stocks are positive except Mindtree Software Ltd, indicating that all the shares carry a higher risk.
