Abstract:
Gmelina arborea Roxb seed oil were extracted and transesterified using methanol as the solvent in presence of a catalyst to produce biodiesel. The yield of the oil and the biodiesel produced was determined and found to be 40.650% and 57.143% respectively. ASTM-D1959 (ISO3961) standard procedure was used to determine the physico–chemical properties of the biodiesel, which include the kinematic viscosity, specific gravity and density, pour point, cloud point, flash point, and refractive index. Predictions of four important chemical properties of biodiesel viz acid value, iodine value, saponification number and cetane index were performed based upon fatty acid profiles of Gmelina arborea biodiesel. Acid value obtained was found to be 0.329 mg KOH/g which is within the acceptable limit of equal or less than 0.50 mg KOH/g in both EN14214 and ASTM D6751 standard fuels. Iodine value of biodiesel was found to be 40.326 g I2/100 g oil which is far below the maximum limit of 120 prescribed in EN14214, and saponification number of the biodiesel derived from Gmelina was determined to be 92.5 𝑚𝑔𝐾𝑂𝐻/𝐾𝑔. The cetane index of Gmelina arborea biodiesel obtained is 50.5, which is higher than the minimum required value specified in ASTM-D6751, but slightly below the minimum value specified in EN14214.

International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 08 - 16, Vol 03 - No. 07, 2018
Abstract:
Considering the economic condition of the country, post-independence, Government of India initiated the Central Public Enterprises as one of the measures for speedy industrial and economic growth in the country and started huge capital investments in these enterprises. However, on realizing the performance of these enterprises were not up to the expectations, several measures were taken up by Government of India from the sixth plan period onwards and subsequent Globalization Policy, i.e. New Economic Policy of 1991-92, followed by Disinvestment Policy and Memorandum of Understandings etc to improve upon the “Productive Performance of CPEs”. More than two decades have been complete since the measures were implemented and, in this context, the present study was conducted to understand the productivity of CPEs with a focus on three important parameters: “Profit contribution to Net Profit from Profit making CPEs”,” Inventory Management “and” Capacity Utilization “. The data analysis was carried over a period of 24 years, between 1993-94 and 2016-17 and the results of the stud were submitted in conclusions.

International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 17 - 19, Vol 03 - No. 07, 2018
Abstract:
This paper presents a review on use of bamboo as a building material. Bamboos belongs to grass family poaceae. It is a woody species form tropical regions and includes giant bamboos. In this present world, many researches are going on to replace the standard building concrete material. Bamboo has high compressive and tensile strength as compared to normal building material. Bamboo is cheap as compared to other construction materials which makes it easy for the low income group people to access it. Bamboo is one of the worlds fastest growing grass. This paper presents the various research done using bamboo as a building material.

Abstract:
Along with the development of the economy, the demand for transportation infrastructure is increasing. To ensure traffic safety, many traffic control devices, such as signage, signal light, sound wall, surveillance camera, bus shelter, etc., are needed along the roads. In our country, the foundations of these structures are usually cast-in-place reinforced concrete (RC) spread footings. Although the concrete volume of a footing is not much but there are many footings scattered along the road or intersections. To build a footing, we have to use many kinds of materials and execute many steps such as digging foundation pit, making formwork, placing reinforcement, pouring concrete. This takes long time and is not economically effective. At present, in some countries using small screw pile (mini screw pile, ground screw) can overcome these disadvantages and has lower costs, very potential in replacing cast-in-place RC spread footing mentioned above to make foundation for traffic control devices and other structures.

Abstract:
Let G be a connected simple graph. A dominating set 𝑆⊆ 𝑉(𝐺) is called a perfect dominating set of 𝐺 if each 𝑢∈ 𝑉 𝐺 ∖𝑆 is dominated by exactly one element of 𝑆. A perfect dominating set 𝑆 of a graph 𝐺 is a perfect outer-convex dominating set if 𝑉 𝐺 ∖𝑆 is convex. In this paper, we give the characterization of the perfect outer-convex domination number 1. Further, we give the characterization of the perfect outer-convex dominating set in the corona of two graphs and give its corresponding perfect outer-convex domination number.

Impact of the Non-linear Dynamics in the SMEs

International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 30 - 33, Vol 03 - No. 07, 2018
Abstract:
Currently, SMEs face the complexity of the business market, being these the most susceptible to failure caused by diverse socio-economic phenomena. Large corporations are the main rival of SMEs because when events that alter economic and social policies in a country or region occur, they have the strategic factors to challenge the chaos that arises, unlike the SMEs that don’t have the resources, strategies and in many cases adequate knowledge to deal with market problems. But, which are the strategies that the large corporations apply to deal with chaos?
In recent years studies about the non-linear dynamics have been widely accepted in the business field, authors such as Lorenz, E. (1963); Nonaka, I. (1988); Koput, K. (1997); have concluded that organizations don’t meet their projected prospects due to the application of a retrograde administration that many times have resulted in the cessation of them.

Authors:
Dechrit Maneetham
Source:
International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 34 - 39, Vol 03 - No. 07, 2018
Abstract:
In this paper, the position control of a hydraulic servo system using PID control is proposed for control of an electro-hydraulicactuator in order to improve steady-state error and the adaptation scheme are applied to an experimental valve controlled cylinder. The comparisons between linear output feedback with a Proportional, Integral and Derivative control (PID). The application of a PID controller to a nonlinear output feedback is investigated by both the position and the velocity of the hydraulic servo system. The experiment was based on a microcontroller and the simulation was based on a MATLAB Simulink. The simulation and the hardware experimental results have shown that the PID controller gave the best performance as it had the smallest overshoot, oscillation, and setting time.
