Authors:
Kandula Ramesh, K. Nagalinga Chary
Source:
International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 10 - 19, Vol 02 - No. 10, 2017
Abstract:
This paper explains the operation of multilevel inverters under unbalanced dc sources. To control the multilevel inverters under unbalanced dc sources three different pulse width modulation techniques were used. Under these three modulation techniques the operation of multilevel inverters was observed. The difference between the three modulation techniques by concentrating on the balanced line to line voltages and balanced output currents is explained. The linear modulation range is reduced under unbalanced DC link conditions. To maximize the linear modulation range, neutral voltage modulation technique is used. Total harmonic distortion for a seven level cascaded inverter with unbalanced dc sources by using three different modulation techniques is explained.

International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 64 - 77, Vol 02 - No. 10, 2017
Abstract:
This paper demonstrates the utilization of solar photovoltaic (SPV) array produced electrical energy for low cost and efficient water pumping using simple, robust and efficient switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive. For increasing the efficiency of pumping system, an incremental conductance (Inc.) algorithm based MPPT technique is employed with SRM drive. A DC-DC cuk converter operated in continuous conduction mode (CCM) .The Mid-point converter having two split capacitors is used to provide the required voltage pulses for phase windings excitation of all four phases of SRM drive. The mid-point converter operates as an electronic commutator to reduce the switching losses and power dissipation of the converter. Both the inductors of cuk converter are operated in continuous conduction mode (CCM) which results in minimal stress on converter elements. The design of control system for four phase SRM is very complex since it has large torque ripples and non uniform torque at its output. The reduction in torque ripples and speed control requires an effective controller.the simulation of the PI based controller for SRM is performed by using MATLAB/simulink it depends upon the different environmental conditions.

Abstract:
In this paper, we adopt a novel applied approach to fault analysis based on data mining theory. In our research, global information will be introduced into the electric power system, we are using mainly cluster analysis technology of data mining theory to resolve quickly and exactly detection of fault components and fault sections, and finally accomplish fault analysis. The rapid increase in the size of databases required to store power quality monitoring data has demanded new techniques for analyzing and understanding the data. One suggested technique to assist in analysis is data mining. Data mining is a process that uses a variety of data analysis tools to identify hidden patterns and relationships within large samples of data. This paper presents several data mining tools and techniques that are applicable to power quality data analysis to enable efficient reporting of disturbance indices and identify network problems through pattern recognition. International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 27 - 36, Vol 02 - No. 10, 2017
Abstract:
In this paper scaling factors of fuzzy logic controller are tuned using particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique which is investigated for two-area automatic generation control (AGC) system. The conven-tional controllers for load frequency control are designed at nominal operating conditions and do not provide optimal performance on other operation conditions. Hence, traditional tie line bias controllers like PI controllers are modified using fuzzy logic controller. But it is difficult to tune the scaling factor of fuzzy logic controller. So particle swarm optimization technique is applied to tune the scaling factor of fuzzy logic controller in order to keep system tie line power and area frequencies at their desired values.

International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 42 - 50, Vol 02 - No. 10, 2017
Abstract:
Forecasting weather is the eminent function of Science and Technology that predicts the upcoming status of the weather for particular place. Weather forecast are furnish by collecting required data (i.e. parameters) about the specified location status of the atmosphere. This paper, has presents a neural network-based algorithm for predicting the weather status. The Neural Networks package supports different types of learning or training algorithms. Of which one of the algorithm is Back Propagation Neural Network (BPN) technique. The main benefit of the BPN neural network method is that it can properly approximate a large class of functions. This method is more efficient than numerical differentiation. The simple meaning of this term is that our model has potential to capture the complex relationships between many factors that contribute to certain temperature. The idea is examined with the real time dataset. Real time processing of weather data indicate that the BPN based weather forecast has shown improvement not only over guidance forecasts from numerical models, but over official local weather service forecasts as well. The results which being extracted will be compared with practical working condition of meteorological department weather data like(min temperature & max temperature, Humidity, rainfall) which will confirm that this model has the potential for successful application to forecasting weather in near future. In this survey paper, an author has used brief survey of various weather forecasting systems using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) has been presented and recommendations has been provided for the future research and reference one can implement.

Abstract:
Transportation plays a key role in the development of an area, but it happens only when the transportation is safe, rapid, comfortable and economy. A road is considered safe when only a few, or no accidents occur. Road and its surroundings, road users and vehicles are the elements contributing to road accidents. Pedestrians, bicyclists and two-wheeler motorized riders are the vulnerable road users. The loss of human life due to accident is to be avoided. Road safety audit (RSA) is a formal procedure for assessing accident potential and safety performance in the provision of new road schemes and schemes for the improvement and maintenance of existing roads. These Audit studies or analysis give scope for the reduction of accidents and helps us to provide safe, self-explaining and forgiving roads. By this we can save the precious human life as well as the nation‟s economy. The selected for this study is part of Hyderabad Outer and Inner Ring Roads, HMDA Roads. Knowledge of accidents that have occurred on roads helps us to improve the design of the roads or to influence the behavior of road users, so that similar accidents do not occur again. Literature review will be done for the safe movement of the Road safety audit and will check the merits and demerits of the techniques used previously.

Discriminating DDoS Attacks from Flash Crowds in IPv6 networks using Entropy Variations and Sibson distance metric
Authors:
HeyShanthiniPandiyaKumari.S, Rajitha Nair.P
Source:
International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 01 - 06, Vol 02 - No. 10, 2017
Abstract:
One of the major threats to network security is Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. DDoS attack causes service disruptions on the victim system by sending large number of packets destined to victim. Lots of mechanisms such as packet marking and packet logging are proposed for identifying the attack sources. Entropy variation based trace back approach is better than other techniques in terms of scalability, storage space and operation overload. On the other hand, the entropy variation metric cannot differentiate legitimate flash crowd flows from DDoS attack flows since both involve sending large number of packets to the victim. To overcome this problem, in this paper, a hybrid metric of entropy variation and Sibson distance to perform the traceback process with flash crowd discrimination has been proposed. Using experiments, it has verified that the accuracy of the traceback process is improved significantly by the proposed method.

Software Quality Control with Linear Failure Rate Distribution Based on Nhpp - An Order Statistics Approach
Authors:
B.Vara Prasad Rao, K.Gangadhara Rao
Source:
International Journal of Latest Engineering Research and Applications, pp 11 - 19, Vol 02 - No. 10, 2017
Abstract:
Statistical process control is a method of monitoring product in its development process using statistical techniques with the presumption that the products produced under identical process condition shall not always be alike with respect to some quality characteristics. However, if the observed variations are with in the tolerable limits statistical process control (SPC) methods would pass them for acceptance. This technique is adopted to decide the reliability and quality of a developed software by defining some quality measures and proposing a probability model for the quality measurements. The well known linear failure rate distribution (LFRD) is considered to propose a software reliability based on non-homogenous Poisson process (NHPP). Its mean value function is taken as a quality characteristic and SPC control limits for it are developed. These control limits are exemplified to a live failure data to detect the out of control signals for the quality of the software based on the software failure data. The new concept of the theory of order statistics is also made use of to trace out the off control signals in the context of every rth observed failure rather than every single failure of the software.

Abstract:
The importance and significance of Municipal finances arises in the context of fiscal decentralization. The finances of Municipalities arise from locally mobilized resources and the resources from the central / state governments in various forms. To enable the Municipalities to perform their functions, they have been authorized to levy taxes on persons, property and business. A large number of functions have been vested in decentralized bodies without sufficient finances. The study of analysis of finances of State and Central Governments in isolation (excluding that of the local bodies) will not provide a holistic picture of the public finances of the country. In this article the Tax and Non tax revenues were selected and analysed. In this paper the second grade Municipality of Adoni in Kurnool district of Rayalaseema region in Andhra Pradesh has been selected for the purpose of the study. Abstract:
The dedicated VHF clear-air atmospheric radars built in the late 70s and early 80s were found to be capable of observing atmospheric parameters such as the three-dimensional wind vector. These radars measure wind continuously. Wind profiling radars yield real-time lower atmospheric wind profiles in continuous unattended operation. These profilers are necessary to measure the wind profile and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) by detecting the echoes of the wind profiler. The lower atmospheric signals, which are processed in the present work has been obtained from the LAWP radar at National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL), Gadanki, India. This paper discusses estimation of the wind profile using Empirical Mode Decomposition with Moving Average Method (EMDMA). Effective Doppler shift for LAWP data is obtained by using Empirical Mode Decomposition with Moving Average and compared with the Doppler obtained for LAWP data using Windowing Techniques. Results shows that there is an effective Doppler shift after using Empirical Mode Decomposition with Moving Average.

Abstract:
In this technocratic era we device so many electrical and electronic devices that keeps people much more sophisticated at the excessive usage of electrical energy. But none of them think on the concept of energy reuse or recycling of available energy. During day time light energy of sun is being used to produce electrical energy. But during night time, there is no energy production and they are rested at the roof - top without usage. Likewise light energy from electric blub is also not used in an effective manner other than lightning. In our project we are conjoining both drawbacks and presenting a new way of energy conservation thus in which the solar panels can produce power both at day and night. The position of solar panel is adjusted to bulb and sun light by using servomotor setup. The DC output of solar cell is stored in battery for future usage. The DC output is converted into AC using inverters and then given to AC appliances through relay circuit. The usage of other appliances can be controlled using IR operation. IR transmitter sends a code in form of train of encoded pulses when a button press is detected for turning on a particular appliance. These pulses are received by IR receiver and read by ARDUINO. It decodes received train of pulse and compares it with the predefined value. If any match occurs, then ARDUINO performs relative operation by sending a signal to relay driver circuit to turn on /off the other needy appliance. Thus the Electrical energy is made use of in an efficient manner using the proposed method.

Abstract:
Business organization confronts difficulties while dealing the global market. One of the challenges is prediction of optimal batch quantity of an inventory. This paper addresses the research void that has been left to suggest a solution in earlier research paper to alleviate the Whip-Lash effect. The main causes of Whip-Lash effect are order-batching, Demand forecasting updating, price fluctuation, rationing and gaming. In supply chain stages (Manufacturer, Distributor, Retailer, Customer), the prediction of order batching perplexed the distributor and retailer much higher than any other two stages. Hence, a Lagrangian function with the objective and constraints are implied to predict the optimum lot size among the variety of items namely ( A-G), that limits to prescribed inventory aspired by the distributor. Finally it minimizes the inventory cost of particular supply chain stage irrespective to the importance of an item. The results confirm that the entire economic order quantity of items depends upon the sensitivity of Lambda value and it is predicted. Furthermore, a MATLAB program is drafted to solve the linear programming model, which can be extended to any number of items.

Abstract:
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have been gaining interest as a platform that change on the basis of interaction with the physical world. Security is important for many sensor network applications. Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are helpful in detecting those attacks, but they are computationally expensive and require enormous resources for detecting the threats. The proposed method is a novel methodology to detect wormhole attack in network and power consumption to detect this attack is greatly reduced is proven. The main objective is to develop a simple Resourceful Adaptive Encapsulation based Logo Pattern Matching algorithm (RAELPM) for detect and isolate wormhole attack in the network and increase the throughput of the network. As sensor nodes are battery-powered devices, the critical aspect is to reduce the energy consumption of nodes, so that the network lifetime can be extended to reasonable times. So, attempts are made to design and develop algorithms that are energy efficient supporting the IDS of WSN. The proposed algorithm considers three stages they are, Neighbor Identification and List Creation, Suspicious Set Creation and Detection Based on RAELPM. A Neighbor Identification and List Creation is used to Base Station (BS) is the central node that is fixed in a communication range. Suspicious Set Creation Each sensor node has a counter along with it. The counter of each node is monitored by the Base Station. The counter value is initialized to 0 before getting processed. Each node gives or gets data, and when that happens, the value of the counter gets incremented automatically when it processes data. Then finally, Base Station monitors each node included in the suspicious set. BS sends a hello request to both suspicious node and its neighbors in the neighbor list. If the node along with its neighbors replies to the Base station, then that node is not a wormhole and is considered to be genuine. The proposed work gains low cost, low energy for sensor nodes compared to other techniques used in existing methods.

Abstract:
For the past ten years research is going on to explore possible composites with natural fiber like plant fibers and animal fibers. The main properties of composites are their stiffness, hardness and light in weight. In the present work, epoxy (Araldite LY-556) is used as resin and "Emu‟ bird feathers as fiber to prepare the composites. The composites were prepared by varying weight percentage of fiber (P) of "Emu‟ feathers ranging from 1 to 5 percent and length (L) of feather from 1 to 5 cm. The objective the work is to investigate the effect of length and weight percentage of feather on tensile strength of "Emu" feather fiber reinforced epoxy composites.

Abstract:
Song Players with automatic song shuffling capability for mobile/personal computer/handheld computer are widely available and most of them accepts user feedback to identify user's mood and play songs as per their mood. A key improvement area in this approach is with the requirement for manual user input to the application to determine the current emotional state of the user. The onus is thus on the user to mark his present emotional state and hence doesn't cater for any dynamism in the emotions of the user. This paper introduces an approach to add automated human emotion recognition mechanism with an active updated music provider which provides for the user to get an automated and seamless Song Shuffler. Facial Action Coding System devised by Carl-Herman Hjortsjöis the basis of the human emotion recognition aspect of this system. Music content used will be reviewed both by the user and also be based on the user's emotional change as a feedback to the music. "Face is the mirror of one's soul"
